Patient representative spokespersons

In accordance with the regulations set forth in the German Social Code, Book Five (SGB V), leading nationwide advocacy groups that represent patient interests or facilitate self-help for people in Germany who are chronically ill or have disabilities are entitled to take part in discussions and submit requests, but not to vote.

Patient involvement specialist team

 

The G-BA patient involvement specialist team is tasked with organizational and content support of patient representatives in the G-BA in exercising their right to take part in discussions and submit requests. In accordance with the German Social Code, Book Five, section 140f, this includes methodological and legal advice, help with discussion documents, organization of meetings and training as well as support with the nomination procedures for patient representatives.
